AAC wins Dick Smith investment

Company News

Australian Agricultural Company Limited (ASX:AAC) has received a $1 million boost from Dick Smith.

The entrepreneur and aviator has invested in the company, in an effort to show support for Australian agricultural land and to extend his campaign against foreign ownership.

The beef producer has recently attempted to attract investment from the Northern Territory government for a proposed abattoir near Darwin that it says would attract 260 jobs in the region.

In the 2011 financial year, the Australian Agricultural Company reported a net profit of $10.5 million.
