Air New Zealand appoints new CEO

Air New Zealand (ASX:AIZ) has appointed Christopher Luxon as its next chief executive officer, replacing Rob Fyfe at the end of December.

Mr Luxon joined the airline last year as group general manager of the international division. 

Air New Zealand says “Mr Luxon brings a wealth of international business experience ... and an exceptionally strong commercial and customer focus.”

Air New Zealand reported a net profit of $28.9 million in the first half of its 2012 financial year.
