Watpac secures over $82M in new contracts

Company News

Watpac Limited (ASX:WTP) has secured over $82 million in new contracts in its construction and Queensland division.

The projects include the construction of a new centre for Griffith University and the expansion of a flour mill in Brisbane.

Watpac’s chief says it has successfully delivered many structures throughout Queensland, which has allowed it to continue building a strong portfolio in the region.

Watpac flagged a hit to full year earnings last month of between $60 and $90 million, impacted by weak conditions in the housing sector.

In the first half of its 2012 financial year Watpac generated a net profit of $4.9 million.
