Resources and Energy Symposium Broken Hill

Convergent Minerals Limited (ASX:CVG) CEO, David Price discusses the Mt Holland Goldfield at the May 2012 Resources and Energy Symposium Broken Hill.

Convergent Minerals (ASX:CVG) was listed on the ASX in 2006. Our excellent Board and management have only been in control since Christmas, but are very experienced in bringing junior miners into production and have done wonders with the share price, since taking over the Company.

Our asset Mt Holland is 300 kilometres east of Perth, easily accessed and situated in a prolifically producing region in the Forrestania gold belt.  Within our tenements we have nine granted mining leases, namely Jasmine, Darjeeling, Earl Grey, Blue Vein, Bush Pig, Razorback, Bounty, Cabernet and Burgundy, all open cut mines and connected by a 10 kilometre north south strike.  A break in the geology creates a sheer zone where we are finding deposited gold.

We inherited a low grade resource estimation for the whole goldfield and have elected to raise that estimation, and look at the potential beneath the open cut mines. Only two of the mines have been accessed underground, so sulphide ore remains under those pits. At Blue Vein we have actual gold lodes and now, 3.5 months into determined drilling, we are getting great results.
