Santos Limited's
(ASX:STO) CEO and Managing Director David Knox has cautioned the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry may face cost blow outs in the future.
Mr Knox has told Business Spectator that Australia needs to follow the American model if is it to meet its ambitious growth targets.
The comments come as Exxon Mobil's Asia Pacific, Africa and Power chief forecast Australia to become the world’s largest LNG exporter in the world, supplying one-fifth of global LNG supply by 2020.
Santos posted a full-year net profit of $751 million in the 2011 financial year.
