Speaking at an industry conference yesterday, Woodside Petroleum’s Limited
(ASX:WPL) chief Peter Coleman says it has established offshore partnerships in order to bid for deepwater gas ground off Cyprus.
Mr Coleman says it has teamed up with partners who have strong local knowledge and connections with European gas markets.
The oil and gas explorer is eyeing a joint venture with Israel’s Delek.
Mr Coleman reaffirmed Australia will remain Woodside’s LNG foundation.
In the 2011 financial year Woodside Petroleum reported a net profit of $1.49 billion.
