News Corporation
(ASX:NWS) has bought a 19.9 per cent interest in Chinese film distributor Bona Film Group.
The financial terms have not been disclosed. News Corp says China’s film distribution market is growing rapidly making Bona an attractive investment.
China has recently begun to take more box office revenue from foreign film studios.
More relaxed governing laws has seen some Hollywood studios expand in the region.
In the first half of the 2012 financial year News Corp recorded a net profit of $1.9 billion.
