Little Eva shows positive results for Altona

Company News

Shares in Altona Mining Limited (ASX:AOH) have risen today following positive results of its Little Eva feasibility study in Queensland.

The metals producer expects annual production of 7 million tonnes of ore for 38,800 tonnes of copper and over 17,000 ounces of gold, making Little Eva one of Australia’s larger base metal developments.

Altona’s chief says combined with its Finnish operations, Litttle Eva will lift Altona’s annual production to about 47,000 tonnes of copper, pushing the company closer to becoming a mid-tier copper producer.

In the first half of the 2012 financial year, Altona reported a net loss of $15.6 million.
