BHP Billiton Limited
(ASX:BHP) has appointed Ian Maxwell as president of its energy coal division.
Mr Maxwell joined BHP in 2004 as President of its minerals exploration arm.
In another appointment, Danny Malchuk will replace Mr Maxwell. Mr Malchuk is currently BHP’s vice-president of strategy and development for its base metals division. Both appointments are effective from July this year.
The global miner announced last month it had produced 38 million tonnes of iron ore in the first three months of this year, 14 per cent higher than the same quarter last year.
BHP reported a net profit of $9.9 billion in the first half of its 2012 financial year.
