Sydney Airport considers new airport

Sydney Airport Holdings Limited (ASX:SYD) will start talks with the federal government regarding a second airport in Sydney.

A second airport at Wilton, in Sydney’s south-west has been selected after a feasibility study was conducted.

Infrastructure and Transport Minister Anthony Albanese says the next steps will be focused on retaining the movement cap and curfew and ensure current access by regional airlines to Sydney.

Sydney Airport booked a net loss of $279.4 million in the full 2011 financial year.
