James Hardie awaits high court decision

James Hardie Industries (ASX:JHX) will hear the final decision from the High Court this morning, for the ongoing compensation case made against them.

The Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) had commenced civil proceedings against James Hardie directors relating to their conduct and transparency with the public.

The decision was overturned in December 2010. The final judgment on director obligations is to be handed down.

Earlier this year, James Hardie paid an early contribution of $132.3 million to Asbestos Injuries Compensation Fund (AICF).

James Hardie posted a net profit of $131.3 million in the half year to the end of September 2011.
