Westfarmers Q3 sales results up

Wesfarmers Limited (ASX:WES) owned Coles has reported sales growth of 3.9 per cent for the financial year to date.

The supermarket chain has surpassed rival Woolworths for the 11th straight quarter, who reported sales growth of 3.8 per cent last week, in its third quarter for total group sales.

Wesfarmers chief says Coles, Bunnings and Kmart continued to be a highlight with each business recording good sales growth.


In the first half of the 2012 financial year, Wesfarmers generated a net profit $1.2 billion.
