James Hardie Industries SE (ASX:JHX) has acquired the assets of a US business involved in the pultrusion of fibreglass profiles.
The building products manufacturer says the new assets had sales revenue of about $US8 million in 2011 and will trade under the name Razor Composites LLC.
Razor Composites is expected will form part of a potential new business development platform in non-fibre cement building materials in the US.
James Hardie says it will provide more details of the acquisition with its full year results.
James Hardie swung to an interim profit of $131.3 million in the half year to the end of September 2011.
