The board of Consumer Staples Giant, Woolworths Group (ASX:WOW), have recommended that shareholders do not support a resolution to provide ongoing disclosures in relation to their labour hire program and the human rights risks in their supply chain.

The resolution, which will be considered at their AGM on 21 November 2018, was sponsored by the Australasian Centre for Corporate Responsibility, the National Union of Workers and Labour Union Co-operative Retirement Fund Super.

The board believes it is not appropriate to mandate annual reporting to the level of detail requested in the resolution on an ongoing and open-ended basis.

Shares in the Woolworths Group (ASX:WOW) are trading 1.36 per cent lower to $28.31.
