Shipbuilding company Austal Limited (ASX:ASB) has inked a deal with US-based General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems.
Under the agreement Austal aims to combine its shipbuilding systems and support capabilities with the other company’s systems integration to support future shipbuilding and sustainment programs.
Austal says the partnership may even pursue opportunities with international governments and navies, including the Royal Australian Navy.
In the first half of the 2012 financial year Austal booked a net loss almost $3 million.
