Healthscope's Northern Beaches Hospital on track to admit first patients 30 October

Private healthcare group Healthscope (ASX:HSO) has today announced it's on track to admit the first patients to its Northern Beaches Hospital on October 30 as planned.

The company has achieved all state government milestones in relation to the hospital and will transfer patients from existing Manly and Mona Vale public hospitals from next week.

MD and CEO Gordon Ballantyne says the partnership between Healthscope, Northern Sydney Local Health District and the NSW Government has the potential to become a new model in healthcare delivery in Australia.

Shares in the company surged almost 20 per cent yesterday on news a private equity consortium had returned with a renewed takeover proposal.
