Flinders Mines inks Native Title agreement

Company News

Flinders Mines Limited (ASX:FMS) has entered into a Native Title mining agreement for its Pilbara Iron Ore Project in Western Australia.

Following a year of consultation the miner says the agreement paves the way for it to obtain a Mining Lease for its project.

Flinders says as well as commercial outcomes this agreement supports the preservation of cultural heritage, indigenous enterprise opportunities, training and job opportunities.

Flinders’ main focus is the development of its Pilbara Iron Ore Project where it is currently undertaking a Definitive Feasibility Study.

Last month Flinders Mines reported a first half net loss of $2.4 million in the six months to December 31, 2011.
