Boral H1 profit up 65%

Company News

Boral Limited (ASX:BLD) has reported a first half net profit of $153 million for the six months ending December 31 2011, a 65 per cent improvement on the previous period.

In the same period the building and construction materials manufacturer’s revenue increased 2 per cent to $243 billion.

CEO Mark Selway says it was disappointing that the economic conditions experienced in the second half of fiscal 2011 continued into 2012, particularly in the residential housing market.

An interim fully franked dividend of 7.5 cents per share has been declared.
