Ansell H1 profit lift

Ansell Limited (ASX:ANN) has increased its first half net profit by 1.1 per cent to $US64.9 million ($A63.8 million).

The gloves and condoms maker has confirmed its earnings-per-share guidance of between 97 US cents to 103 US cents.

The guidance represents six to 12 per cent earnings-per-share growth, compared with the previous corresponding period.

Revenue from ordinary activities fell 3.9 per cent to $US597.7 million.

The group will pay an unfranked interim dividend of 15 cents.

Ansell posted a net profit of $126 million in the 2011 financial year.
