Clough awarded $145M PNG contract

Clough Limited (ASX:CLO) has been awarded a contract worth about $145 million for work at a liquefied natural gas project in Papua New Guinea.

The engineering and construction company’s Clough Curtain Joint Venture will work on the PNG LNG project, which is being developed by Santos Limited (ASX:STO), Oil Search Limited (ASX:OSH), ExxonMobil and Japanese and PNG institutions.

PNG LNG includes gas production and processing facilities, onshore and offshore pipelines and liquefaction facilities.

Shares in Clough closed 1.41 per cent higher following the news at $0.72.

In the 2011 financial year Clough reported a net profit of $33 million.
