It seems that Boeing backs Qantas Airways Limited’s (ASX:QAN) strategy, although the chief executive of the world’s biggest aerospace company won’t directly comment on the plans of its customers.
In an interview with The Australian, Boeing chief executive Jim McNerney says the changing structure of the industry will lead to bigger combinations of carriers sharing the market with smaller niche players.
It seems he backs the general thrust of airlines such as Qantas positioning themselves at multiple sites around the world, offering an array of different services.
In the 2011 financial year Qantas reported a net profit of $249 million.
