The Australian Greens have called on the federal government to investigate Arc Exploration Limited (ASX:ARX) after the death of two anti-mining demonstrators.
The gold explorer halted its Indonesian operations earlier this week after two people were killed and 10 others injured in the clashes.
According to media reports, police fired shots after villagers blockaded the port and burned buildings.
The Greens have suggested the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade investigate to see if Arc contributed to the events leading up to the protests.
Arc posted a net loss of $1.1 million for the half year to June 30, 2011.
