Decmil Group Limited (ASX:DCG) has won a $30 million contract from Pilbara focussed iron ore miner Fortescue Metals Group Limited (ASX:FMG).
Civil engineering and construction company Decmil will undertake construction of the Christmas Creek airstrip earthworks, runway and facilities as part of Fortescue’s expansion project.
The contract also includes design, approvals, procurement and construction of an airport facility at the Christmas Creek mine.
CEO Scott Criddle says the award aligns with Decmil’s plan to expand its civil contracting offering into the infrastructure sector.
In the 2011 financial year Decmil Group generated a net profit of $23.5 million.
