VDM Group scores $30.6M BHP contracts

Design and construction company VDM Group Limited (ASX:VMG) has scored two contracts from global miner BHP Billiton Limited (ASX:BHP) valued at $30.6 million.

BHP Billiton Iron Ore has awarded VDM a contract for the main installation of a central accommodation camp at its Central REG Camp project in Western Australia. 

BHP Billiton Petroleum has awarded VDM a design and construction contract for administration control and warehouse maintenance buildings, also in WA.

The company says the latest contracts bring its total value of work won this financial year to more than $130 million and that it’s close to securing more awards on several other projects.

Shares in VDM Group had lifted 6.82 per cent this morning and were trading at $0.047.

VDM Group reported a net loss of $35.5 million in the 2011 financial year, impacted by significant items and revenue slowdown.
