Telstra resubmits NBN plan

Company News

Telstra Corporation Limited (ASX:TLS) has resubmitted its national broadband network plan to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

The new draft includes changes to its structural separation undertaking, in response to demands from the ACCC for Telstra to give rivals access to its monopoly fixed line network during the decade-long transition to the NBN. Telstra says the changes won’t have any “material” impact on shareholders.

The regulator’s expected to meet later this week to consider the revised proposal for the $11 billion deal.

Meanwhile NBN Co chief executive Mike Quigley says the roll out of the NBN’s growing rapidly – about 3,000 people are now on the network.

Telstra Corporation Limited (ASX:TLS) reported a profit of $3.2 billion for the six months to June.
