Macquarie Group Limited (ASX:MQG) has laid off up to 70 staff in its infrastructure technology services group according to the Australian Financial Review.
The report says it’s part of the group’s plan to take the jobs offshore to Manila and Delhi.
Fifty of the staff were full-time contractors, who have received a month’s pay.
The head of the division declined to comment, according to the paper.
In the six months to September 30, 2011 Macquarie Group reported a net profit of $308 million.
