Logistics company Brambles Limited (ASX:BXB) has created CHEP Aerospace Solutions, a network of pallets and containers for in-flight transport of cargo, baggage and mail.
The move is part of the company’s strategy of expanding its containers pooling business.
To enhance CHEP Aerospace Solutions Brambles has also inked a deal to buy Driessen Services, a specialist pallet repair and maintenance company, for $10 million.
Once the acquisition is complete CHEP Aerospace Solutions will operate through 41 service and repair centres in the world.
In the 2011 financial year Brambles booked a net profit of $443 million.
