Webjet Limited (ASX:WEB) has reported 25 per cent growth in ticket sales for the first quarter of the 2012 financial year.
The online travel agent’s total transaction values rose to around $188 million in July to September, compared with $149 million achieved the same time a year earlier.
Webjet says most of this growth has been delivered by increasing transaction numbers as distinct from unit values.
The company also notes that the growth was achieved despite the non-operation of budget-airline Tiger for part of the period.
Webjet is currently forecasting 10 per cent growth in the year ahead.
In the 2011 financial 2011 year Webjet improved its net profit by 5 per cent to $11 million.
