Domino's Pizza Enterprises Limited (ASX:DMP) has purchased electric delivery scooters from ASX-listed scooters and motorcycle distributor, Vmoto Limited (ASX:VMT).
Vmoto says the seven new scooters will be for trial in Domino's delivery fleet, which if successful will see Domino’s phase out its current petrol delivery vehicles to be replaced with electric vehicles.
Domino’s says its committed to sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing its carbon footprint.
Vmoto sees the potential supply agreement as a possibly world first for large scale pizza delivery.
In the 2011 financial year, Domino's Pizza Enterprises increased its net profit by 20 per cent to $21.4 million.
