Company News

Gaming company Aristocrat Leisure Limited (ASX:ALL) has settled several intellectual property disputes with its US rival, International Gaming Technology  (NYSE:IGT).

Under the new deal Aristocrat and IGT have struck a cross-licensing arrangement, regarding Aristocrat's Hyperlink and Ante-Bet patents and IGT's Alcorn patents.

Managing Director and CEO, Jamie Odell, says the settlement with IGT will now allow Aristocrat to focus on its intellectual property efforts against other parties.

Mr Odell says that aggressively protecting and defending the company’s intellectual property is a core part of Aristocrat’s business strategy.

In the first half of its 2011 financial year Aristocrat Leisure posted a net profit of $25.2 million.
