Lend Lease Group (ASX:LLC) has won a $317 million contract from Queensland Health for the redevelopment of Cairns Base Hospital.
The property developer says its Australian infrastructure business, Abigroup, will undertake the work.
Stage one involves the design and construction of a new clinical services building and the doubling the size of the intensive care unit, baby nursery and birthing suites, due to be completed by 2013.
Stage two involves refurbishing existing hospital buildings and expanding the Mental Health Unit, due to be completed by 2015.
Lend Lease advises that it is currently delivering major healthcare infrastructure projects across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
Lend Lease posted a net profit of $493.2 million in the 2011 financial year.
