BHP CEO pay increases 8.5%

BHP Billiton Limited’s (ASX:BHP) CEO Marius Kloppers took home $US11.6 million in the 2011 financial year.

Mr Kloppers pay increased 8.5 per cent over the year, boosted by a higher base salary, cash bonuses and share-based payments.

Last month BHP reported the biggest annual profit ever made by an Australian-listed company, underpinned by soaring commodity prices.  

In the 2011 financial year BHP Billiton reported a net profit of $22.3 billion.
