Cochlear recalls product

Company News

Cochlear Limited (ASX:COH) has announced a voluntary recall of one if its implants that has failed.

The bionic ear implant company has begun notifying healthcare professionals and regulatory authorities about the recall of the Nucleus CI500, but doesn’t know what the financial impact of the recall will be.

The news comes after a recent increase in the failures in Cochlear’s CI512 product, although the rate of failure was less than one per cent.

Cochlear Limited (ASX:COH) reported a record full year profit last month, lifting 16 per cent to $180.1 million.
