Telstra Corporation Limited's
(ASX:TLS) 50 per cent owned Foxtel is getting ready for the London Olympics, revealing that the selling of the Games channels won’t start until next March or April.
Foxtel bought the rights to the games, along with Nine Entertainment Co, in 2007 for $US100 million.
Chief executive Kim Williams says Foxtel has also started negotiating a mobile phone deal with parent company Telstra.
He told Fairfax Media that the Delhi Games channels will be a powerful customer retention and loyalty tool.
Two weeks ago, Telstra reported full-year net profit of $3.25 billion.
