ASX rival may face delay

Company News

Chi-X’s rival ASX Limited (ASX:ASX) plans to move its data centre in late November, potentially interfering with the launch of the new stockmarket operator. That’s according to a report by the Australian Financial Review.

Chi-X plans to be up and running on November 1st, just one day after the ruling allows them to do so, but if they’re not ready, they face even more serious problems, as the ASX will then be moving crucial stockmarket data operations to a new centre on the outskirts of Sydney that could mean even further delays to Chi-X’s launch. That could push the start date out to as late as early next year.

ASX generated a net profit of $172 million in the first half of its 2011 financial year.
