Woolworths Limited (ASX:WOW) is close to signing former Tesco executive Colin Holmes as its new head of supermarkets, according to a report by The Australian.
Mr Holmes was recently passed over as Tesco’s head of UK operations and left the company.
He is tipped to replace Greg Foran, who quit last week. According to the report, Foran has not formally found another position, but is confident he will find one, staying on until a replacement for Woolworth’s is found.
Woolworths first half net profit fell to $1.2 billion in the six months to 31 December 2010.
