Aquarius Platinum Q4 output up 3%

Company News

Aquarius Platinum Limited (ASX:AQP) has reported a marginal improvement in fourth quarter output, compared to the year before.

In the three months to the end of June Aquarius says production of platinum group metals increased 3 per cent to 114,260 ounces.

The company’s Mimosa mine in Zimbabwe delivered a record result in the period helping to offset lower than expected volumes from its South African operations.

Aquarius says it remains well positioned to weather current economic uncertainty, and to benefit from what it calls inevitable medium-term platinum group metals supply shortage and the associated price improvements.

Aquarius Platinum boosted its interim net profit to $92.8 million in the six months to 31 December 2010.
