Jetstar flies to Vietnam

Jetstar Asia, the Qantas Airways Ltd's (ASX:QAN) budget carrier, plans to start flights between Hanoi and Singapore from December 15, just in time for the Christmas rush.

The airline will also add a daily flight between Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City from mid August to expand the frequency between the two financial hubs, to three flights a day.

The carrier also says it plans to add a daily service between Melbourne and Beijing by the end of the year.

For the period to December 31 2010, Qantas reported an interim net profit of $239 million.
