Minara output still on standby

Company News

Minara Resources Ltd (ASX:MRE) has revealed that output at its Murrin Murrin project is still on standby, following a technical failure last week.

The nickel producer says the project’s acid plant, where acid goes through ore to recover a nickel solution, remains offline.

The failed heat exchanger unit now requires a replacement and is being sourced.

Minara says the impact on the company’s 2011 production guidance, of up to 37,000 tonnes of annual nickel production, is being assessed.

Minara Resources generated a net profit of $58.3 million in the 2010 calendar year.
