Fairfax Media Ltd (ASX:FXJ) has launched a new syndication website live from today.
The company aims to increase revenue by selling video, pictures and stories from its archives and current material.
Fairfax is trying to encourage users to legally pay for material, rather than breaching copyright and taking it for free.
Fairfax says it is spending more on automated methods to check copyright infringement.
For the six months to December 2010, Fairfax Media reported a net profit of $173 million.
