Aurizon posts 10% net profit increase FY18

Aurizon Holdings (ASX:AZJ) has reported its underlying net profit after tax (NPAT) increased by about 10 per cent on FY17 to $542 million for the 2018 financial year.

Its revenue fell by 1 per cent over the 2018 financial year, to $3.1 billion.

The rail freight operator’s underlying earnings increased 6 per cent on the prior year, to around $940.6 million.

The company declared a final dividend of 13.1 cents per share,a 47 per cent increase compared to the final dividend last year. The final dividend will be 60 per cent franked.

Aurizon expects financial year 19 underlying earnings for its rail businesses to be in the range of $390 to $430 million compared to $460 million this year.

Shares in Aurizon Holdings (ASX:AXJ) are trading 0.45 per cent higher to $4.42.
