Qantas to resume flights

Company News

Qantas Airways (ASX:QAN) says it’s planning on resuming flights to Perth and Tasmania today.

It comes as ash from an exploding South American volcano clears.

According to reports though airlines are still avoiding flights to New Zealand and Argentina.

This latest disruption follows a recent announcement talking of heavy cut-backs by Qantas as the carrier struggles in a challenging market environment.

Qantas Airways recorded an interim net profit of $239 million in the six months to the end of December 2010.
