Qantas Airways Ltd (ASX:QAN), Jetstar, Tiger Airways and Virgin Australia are monitoring a second volcanic plume heading towards Australia.
Virgin has cancelled flights in and out of Perth, and Qantas expects to do the same at midday.
Qantas, Jetstar and Tiger have continued to cancel flights to Tasmania and New Zealand, but have resumed services to Adelaide.
For the half year ended December 31, 2010, Qantas posted a net profit of $239 million.
