Qantas traffic may increase to Singapore

Singapore’s Changi Airport may be looking to set up a Qantas Airways Limited (ASX:QAN) premium carrier in Singapore.

The Airport’s executive vice-president of air hub development, Yam Kum Weng, has told media that although no proposal has been put forward yet, he sees a big potential for premium traffic between Singapore and Australia.

Meanwhile, the International Air Transport Association’s financial monitor report, says global airline shares advanced 5 per cent in May. The boost was on the back of lower fuel prices for the month compared with April’s high prices.

Qantas Airways Limited (ASX:QAN) reported a profit of $239 million in the last six months of last year.
