Online job search engine Seek (ASX:SEK) has launched a mobile phone application that allows job hunters to apply for positions via their mobile phones.
New Zealand’s One News reports that the Mobile Apply application allows job seekers to search and apply using a preloaded CV.
The company’s product director Doug Blue says the tool was in high demand. Since the launch of Seek Mobile, he says there has been a phenomenal growth in the number of mobile phone job searches.
New job applications through the website were up 1.6 per cent in March following a slight increase in February. Western Australia saw the highest number of applications of all states, up 2.5 per cent.
Seek posted a profit of $47.9 million in the half year to December 31, 2010.
