Virgin Blue passengers decrease

Company News

Virgin Blue Holdings Ltd (ASX:VBA) has reported a fall in international and domestic passenger numbers for April.

Domestic passengers were down 2.1 per cent, and international passengers fell 19.2 per cent when compared with the corresponding month last year.

The dramatic fall in international numbers was due to the withdrawal of Pacific Blue from the New Zealand market.

Figures for the year were more positive.

In the first half of the 2011 financial year, Virgin Blue’s net profit dropped to $23.8 million.
