Elders expected to report loss

Company News

Elders (ASX:ELD) has been tipped by analysts to post a $20 million loss today after flood damage.

The rural services, forestry and auto parts group is expected to report between $8 and $20 million in cyclone damage charges.

However, the company’s rural fire services division may be reporting an increase in earnings because of stronger chemical and fertiliser prices.

Elders has taken $635m in write-downs over the past two financial years.

In the six months to September last year, Elders reported a loss of $212 million.
