Metcash Ltd (ASX:MTS), has faced a fresh round of opposition to their intended takeover of Franklins.
The Federal Court heard yesterday that there was little evidence of Franklins competing vigorously, while the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has argued that if the company is allowed to purchase the supermarket chain, its market power will increase.
Metcash generated a net profit of $113 million in the six months to October 30, 2010.
