Company News

Decmil Group Ltd (ASX:DCG) has been awarded a $71 million contract by BHP Billiton Ltd (ASX:BHP) to install permanent accommodation in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.

The civil engineering and construction company says the contract is to design and construct the Warrawandu Village.

Work is due to start straight away and scheduled for completion in October 2012.

The latest contract adds to a $55 million contract Decmil Group secured at the beginning of the month from Fortescue Metals Group Ltd (ASX:FMG), for work on the iron ore miners Christmas Creek Project in the Pilbara.

CEO Scott Criddle says the company’s order book for work in hand over the next year has now grown to around $250 million.

In the six months to the 31 December 2010, Decmil Group boosted its net profit by 58 per cent to $14.2 million.
