Ausenco Ltd (ASX:AAX) has been awarded a $25 million contract at the Isaac Plains Coal Mine in the Bowen Basin region of central Queensland.
The engineering and project management company says it will provide operation and maintenance services to the coal handling and preparation plant at the mine until June 2012.
Ausenco has been operating the plant for the past three years and says the plant throughput often exceeds nameplate capacity.
The Isaac Plains Coal Mine is a 50:50 joint venture between Aquila Resources Ltd (ASX:AQA) and Vale Australia Pty Ltd.
In the 2010 calendar year, Ausenco booked a net loss of $10.7 million.
